The academic activity commenced in the institute in the year 1983 initially with training of students in four one year Diploma programmes viz. Cookery, House Keeping, Reception & Book Keeping and Restaurant & counter services. The institute started three year diploma Programme in Hotel Management from 1984, now upgraded to B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration (Three year Degree Course). Besides the regular degree, the institute is conducting Craft Diploma, short term courses in various disciplines like Front Office, F&B Service, Hotel House keeping and Food Production.

Selection Procedure The admission to three year Degree Course is made through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by National Council for Hotel Management Catering Technology, Noida in the month of April/May every year. The short listed candidates are subsequently counseled by NCHMCT for selection and allotment of seats to IHM’s (For details please refer to www.nchmct.org).

Laboratories/Training Kitchen |
For the development of practical skills, laboratories with required equipments and apparatus have been established. These include Training Kitchens (Basic, Advanced), Training Restaurants (F&B Service) and House Keeping among others. The students are given ample opportunity for individual working to express and demonstrate the acquired skills. |

The library is well stocked with text and reference books on various subjects of Hotel Management and other related/allied areas. It subscribes regularly to a number of acknowledged periodicals and magazines. Library has facility to get books on loan. |

Extra-Curricular Activities |
Extra-Curricular Activities have been conducted by institute from time to time for the overall development of the students. The main thrust is given on Co-Curricular activities for the development of the proficiency in the subject of French, Spoken English as well as computer applications. |

The Industrial Training is a compulsory part of 2nd year degree course curriculum was arranged for the students in various hotels of the country. During the training the student is expected to work in the Kitchen, F&B Service, Front Office, House Keeping and Sales & Marketing.
